Community Outreach Programs

Being supportive of the community and the people within it, is a main focus at Lock Down Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We do lots of work within the Sachem Schools and Ronkonkoma area to support the community and some of its events and organizations. Some of the organizations we are actively a part of are the following:

Mission 22 -

Lock Down Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu BJJ is the Long Island ambassador to Mission 22 - Every day in America we lose over 20 veterans to suicide.

Our mission is to end the stigma surrounding PTS and Traumatic Brain Injury and get our veterans the treatment options they want and deserve. Mission 22 has three major programs:
1. Funding treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other issues veterans face
2. Creating large-scale public memorials to honor veterans
3. Bringing awareness to the issues veterans are facing today

We Defy -

We provide combat veterans coping with military connected disabilities a long term means to overcome their challenges through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and fitness training. We are committed to our country, to creating a better life for our veterans and their families, our team, and accomplishing our mission by providing training and support.

The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Long Island, also known as SPCLI, is a Coalition of individuals and agency representatives from various organizations dedicated to preventing suicides and saving lives in our community.

Our Vision Statement: "To save lives on Long Island through the elimination of suicides."

Our Mission Statement: "The SPCLI includes a broad range of stakeholders who have come together with a common interest in preventing suicide, connecting those touched by suicide to helpful resources, and providing education about suicide to the public and professional community on Long Island."
